Mickey Finn Vs. HUD
ADAPT Member Mickey Finn recently has tentativly granted a waiver from Housing and Urban Development. Their new regulations do not allow for individuals to pay over 40% of there income for housing, even though there is a severe shortage of accessable housing. Mickey wrote a letter appealing the disicision and explaining the situation, the complex he would like to live in is one of the few willing meet the access requirements set forth by HUD. Recently one of our members called 89 different places before finding one accessable apartment. Mickey sent his letter to his case worker the supervisor and Carol Boster (304-347-5216) of the HUD civil rights division. We would like to thank Carol for her assistance.
