Hi everyone: On Friday, October 14th, the Governor will be handing out new
state quarters to the children of the state. Come and participate in the unveiling
of the new $5 million dollar dome!!!!! As advocates for all people's rights,
we will be handing out the attached flyer to bring to light the clear contradictions
that is abound in State Government. The Medicaid Program is being
"redesigned" by DHHR and even Senator Rockefeller doesn't think it
is a good idea. I have attached a flyer we want folks to distribute on Friday.
If you want more information about the Medicaid Redesign, you can look on line
at the DHHR website with a left hand link to the Redesign Process, or email
me.
There are many concerns that ALL social advocacy groups are concerned about. This is not just a disability issue. People with disabilities and the elderly, who "cost" the system the most, will likely me most greatly affected by the changes to WV Medicaid. Please try and attend this event if you can.
WE WILL MEET AT 11AM AT THE LIBERTY BELL BEHIND THE CAPITOL (AWAY FROM THE RIVER).
The event is planned to start at 10 but the governor will not be handing out
quarters till noon. Please tell at least five other people, carpool, ride your
bike, or teletransport. Try and make it if you can. I have also put the flyer
in this document below. Let me know if you would like to help distribute flyers
on Friday. Print some up if you can from the attachement to bring to distribute.

If you or a family member has Medicaid as your primary health insurance
Here is what is in your future:
a.. Member Agreements that will take away individual freedoms
b.. No Fair Due Process
c.. Continuing long waiting lists
d.. Increased reliance on Managed Care
e.. Likely decrease in the services available
Today, while these changes are being proposed, the Capitol Dome is being celebrated
at a cost of approximately FIVE MILLION DOLLARS.
When will the State of West Virginia get its priorities straight.
MEDICAID REDESIGN - No choice for the people of West Virginia. The proposed
changes will make Medicaid as worthless as the $2 bill.
