2000 UPDATED IMAGES FROM
PROJECT GRADUATION An enduring feature of "Project Graduation" over the years is the enthusiasm that goes not only into planning, but is experienced first hand by the participants. Students must sign a contract that includes parent consent. A basic understanding is that no student is to leave the supervised premises at "The Factory" unless prior written permission is received. As graduation day approaches each year, parents receive copies of the "Project Graduation" outline and permission forms. Informational assemblies are conducted at each school in the spring to describe the program and encourage participation. In 1997, "Project Graduation" became sponsored and supported through the Marion County Parks and Recreation Program. A task force under the direction of Roberta Steele, chairman, works on planning, preparation and fund raising throughout the year.
Graduation is here! Your
community has spent months planning an all-night, fun-filled, free
party for our Graduating Seniors of the class of 2000.
The "Factory" in Whitehall will be hosting this
years graduation celebration on Saturday, May 27th from 11:00
p.m. to 6:00 a.m. We are
excited about the many new opportunities that this facility will provide.
We invite you to come participate in and experience the best kept
secret in Marion County. It is our hope
that this party will serve as a positive alternative to the traditional
alcohol-oriented means of celebrating.
The primary purpose of this drug and alcohol-free party is to
prevent circumstances that could threaten the bright future of our
graduates on their special day. Graduates
are asked to sign an agreement not to use alcohol or other drugs before or
during the celebration. We
hope that you will encourage your senior to attend this event and entrust
us with their safety.
