The art department in headed by Mr. Richard Henderson. All students are scheduled for art classes weekly.

MR. RICHARD HENDERSON

Has taught for 18 years

This is his second year at Watson

"As an Artist and a teacher of Art, I feel that all students can become competent in Art. There are many skills that can be learned by practicing, even if a child is not extremely talented in Art. If a student is encouraged and shown how to draw, paint and create 3-Dimensional works of Art, then he/she starts to feel confident in their ability to create. The "I can't draw" attitude gradually disappears, replaced by "I can!"
